APF-Kyoto-Path-2000-2025
In the year 2000, while in Japan with my great friend, Andres Tremols, we made the bullet train trip from Nagoya to Kyoto. The Kyoto train station and surrounding area were bustling, a bit gritty and not what I expected. However, when we entered the Daitoku-ji Temple, I was overcome by a sense of quiet, calmness and serenity. I noticed that other visitors started talking in a whisper and walking with a gentle step. When I came upon this path, I could feel the artisan's presence, and hand crafted love. I cannot imagine there was a strict timetable for its creation. Later while working on the image, I tried to honor that quiet calmness.
